This rare Wide Ruins Chrystal Navajo rug, woven in the 1950s-1960s by Mary Lee, is part of a collection of hand-spun, hand-vegetal dyed, hand-woven rugs collected by the owner of The Zuni Shop in Gallup, New Mexico. The Zuni Shop closed in the late 1960s, and these rugs were collected and stored rolled in plain newsprint paper in moth-proof trunks. The rug is in perfect condition or as loomed condition.

The weaver picked the vegetal dyes, and the sheared wool was kettle-dyed by the weaver before being hand-spun into the yarn used in this weaving.
