Large vintage Hopi coil Olla basket with 4 Mudheads and 4 ears of corn with upside down cloud design on the lower part of the basket. This basket was woven by famous master weaver Pauline Quiyo, c1995 and has been stored away since purchased new. Note that the ears of corn are multi-colored and the Mudheads eyes are raised. The colors are all natural yucca and local vegetal dyes.
Pauline wove this basket for the Secakuku Family that had a trading post and general store at Hopi and were going to open a gallery shop in Flagstaff that didn't work out.
