Vintage very finely-evenly woven vegetal dye Yeibichai Dancer Navajo weaving by Ella Yazzie. This beautiful weaving by famous Navajo artist Ella Yazzie woven c1955-65 is woven from vegetal dyed finely spun wool. The weaving comes from a collection made  by Vicky Noe, a woman trader that owned her own trading post near Gallup, NM. Vicky encouraged several of her best weavers to hand-spin and dye their wool. She collected the best of their weavings. Vicky stored her collection in custom made wooden boxes from when she collected them in the 1950s to c1965 when her trading post closed. Her sons decided to sell the collection in the early 1990s and we purchased part and have had the rugs stored away in moth-proof, light-proof, dust-proof boxes.
